A lot of wisdom packed into this book.

It’s going to rain,

I can tell,

By the way I feel,

And the spit on my skin.

It’s going to rain,

I can tell,

By the cloud up above

And the look in your eyes,

It’s about to come down

Hard.

Attempt at Book

May 7, 2017 — Leave a comment

I have written 70,000 words about my experience as a kid in Scotland being brought up by a fairly wealthy professional musician.

Both parents were alcoholics but I try to focus on the bullying at school I could not contend with because my parents were always in a state of intoxication. i.e. Steaming drunk as they say in Glasgow.

It’s my first attempt and I put it up on Kindle Unlimited which means you don’t have to pay for it. Or it’s $2.99 from Kindle. Well, I am Scottish.

The writing is either awful or not bad or pretty good but if some of you guys could give me feedback I would be so happy.

It was more a cathartic experience than anything but it really is a weird and painful journey. I hope people identify with some of what I’ve attempted to write. Love you all.

Turtle Doves

Dove at Sunset over Lago di Garda

Through orange heights,

Through turtle doves,

And through the alleyways,

I see the love

That hope enshrouds

Descend and take away

The thoughts I had of one I love

A city far but near

And in its grasp

A homesick dove

For whom I shed a tear.

The air is still,

I feel no wind

Inside I feel no sorrow

Upon my hope

My faith is pinned

The dove shall fly tomorrow.

No Card Needed

unknown

My signature on a Valentine’s card

Will fade over time.

But the aching intensity

Of my love

For you,

Will never

Be destroyed

By moments.

Your voices make little difference,

The wind has the power to defeat

And take away all this dire screaming

But leave blisters and scars on your feet.

You can dress in vaginal outfits,

Give a finger to every young cop

Throw water bottles

At barking Alsatians,

There is nothing to say you must stop.

Urinate on the stars and stripes if you want,

Wipe your feet or your ass on the flag,

Smash up a Starbucks

(But don’t expect to get served),

Smash up banks

(Who financed your candidate),

And shout down the scum who you hate.

But it won’t make any difference

I can assure you,

The bed in the attic’s still there,

The food stamps will keep on arriving,

And the wind will still blow in your hair.

The streets will be cleared in the morning

As sad bitter people disperse,

To the buses and trains and planes waiting,

And the undertaker driving the hearse.

A split second moment
That meant nothing to anyone
But me

Fool Moon

A fool

With an iPhone,

Is delusional

If he imagines,

A snap of the moon with a minuscule shutter,

Will capture the enormity of this

Striking ornament.

It won’t, of course,

But it lets God know

I care.

And if I hadn’t seen her glow

We’d never have existed.

Kids Scalp the Child

Amazing that some are surprised

Kids with no faith

Scalp

Kids with no strength

(Cowering in a corner)

Helpless

Against a world that says

You can’t complain

Because you’re white

Patience

When the good in people

Wins the battle

Evil

Will wait

And wait

Until it can strike

So let it meander

In Hell’s

Never ending realm

Until it consumes itself

In its own self rendered rage
